CYSL Coaches

Mission

It is CYSL's mission to offer coaches every opportunity to become better coaches.  We will continue to offer coaching clinics and licensing to our coaches.  We invite new coaches to ask plenty of questions to their fellow coaches, referees and board members.  Our ultimate goal is to produce players of a high caliber that continue to love the game.

CYSL's Programs

  Different Level of Competition:
We are primarily a recreational league and our main focus is on the fall league.  CYSL does offer semi-local travel teams during the winter through Bill Meyer and Frazier Leagues.  We've been getting recent interest in a higher level of play to form Club Level teams - if we get enough interest we'll help pursue these leagues as well.

  Licensing:
CYSL on a yearly basis attempts to offer Licensing for coaches.  The licensing starts at F and continues up to a National A license.  We try to cycle through a single license class a year - but what we don't offer we can direct you to a nearby class.

  Free Clinics:
CYSL works with other local leagues and high schools to offer many opportunities to attend free clinics that are focused on different aspects of the Sweet Sport.

  Laws of the Game:
Need an answer right now?  Have a nagging question on what the exact rules of any situation of a game.  The Laws of the Game are authorized on an annual basis by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) and provided by the Fédération Internationale de Football Associations (FIFA).

Oversight:
All of our coaches (and Board Members) have a background check done and are finger printed by LiveScan.  Our Cal North parent league knows that many families entrust the safety of their children with members of our league - we want to do everything in our power to ensure families that their children are entrusted to good people.  There is no cost to our coaches for this service.

In Case of Injury

If a player or coach was injured at a CYSL game or practice please use the Case Report form.  The league has SECONDARY insurance coverage for all of its members.  Gather as much information as you can regarding the injury and contact information for the family involved.  After you have the form filled out as best you can please contact the following people by e-mail:   League President, Registrar and Coach Coordinator.
